Jade Perch is originally found in the area from upstream of Barcoo River to the east coast of Queensland. The fish has an oblate and fleshy body and a small head. The body has big and small black blotches which look like diamond. It has a fresh and delicious taste, few bones, high flesh rate and also high in nutrients.
According to the research by Australian’ Commonwealth Scientific and Industrial Research Organization (CSIRO, 98), Jade Perch has the highest content of Omega 3 unsaturated fatty acid among the 200+ types of marine food products. It has 2483mg per 100g of flesh, twice the marine fish, three times the salmon….
Modern scientific research shows that unsaturated fatty acid is of critical importance for health. Omega is a series of polyunsaturated fatty acid essential but cannot be produced within human body, it can only come from food intake.
