for soup with meats (briefly blanch in boiling water for a min to remove the odd taste, blood water and impurities.), add 4 pieces of candied date, 2 pieces of dried citrus peel and cook for 3 hours;
for soup without meats, add 4 pieces of candied date, 2 pieces of dried citrus peel and cook for 2.5 hours.
