Choi sum is a leafy vegetable commonly used in Chinese cuisine. Choi Sum in Cantonese means " the heart of the vegetable". Choi Sum taste slightly bitter and earthy with a hint of mustard flavor. Other than its stems and leaves; the petit flowers on top can be eaten also! Choi Sum gives a rich and strong taste after cook, and its well suited for stir-fry dishes. Choi Sum is rich in vitamin A, vitamin C, dietary fibre, calcium and iron.
Steam with preserved vegetables (Mui Choi) if you like to have it the Chinese way with a twist!
