Fuji Apple, also known as Apple from Mt. Fuji, was cultivated in the late 1930s by the breeders of the northeastern branch of the Fujisaki-machi Agriculture and Forestry Laboratory in Aomori Prefecture, Japan, and was introduced to the market in 1962. Fuji apple is a hybrid of two variants of the American Red Delicious apple and Ralls Genet apple.
