1. Gently feel the peach with your fingers 用手指輕觸蜜桃
If it is soft, the peach is ripened. On the contrary, if the peach is still firm to the touch, it’s not ready. But be aware of the different types of peaches, some are firmer while some are softer.
2. Observe its color 留意蜜桃顏色
If the peach is green or even has any hint of green left on it, it is not ready yet. But if it turns into yellowish red, and the top part of the peach has turned darker, the peach is ready to be eaten.
3. Smell the aroma 聞聞桃香
When the peach gives off a sweet aroma, it’s a good sign that it’s ready to be enjoyed.

The best way to ripen a peach is to leave it on a counter at room temperature for 1-2 days. If you want to speed things up, pop the peach in a paper bag, or use nylon cloth to cover it. With these tips, you can easily enjoy sweet and juicy peaches!
